Canon announces Powershot TX1 with 720p
Canon has announced a new addition to the Powershot family with the release of the TX1, which is not only a 7MP happy snapper but also packs drool-worthy 720p 30fps hi-def video.
Gizmodo has a good first overview of the TX1 accompanied by some hi-res pictures.
I am very excited about this camera, especially the possibility of 720p in such a small form factor. I may finally be able to ditch my beloved Canon MVX3i in favour of this little guy. Why? Well it's tapeless for a start, meaning instant access to the clips off the flash drive (no tedious tape capture), it's got 10x zoom and image stabilization just like the 3i, it's an upgrade to HD from SD, and best of all it's about three times smaller!
