Flickr adds TX1, photo pool and review

A few quick Flickr related updates...
  • The TX1 has been added to the list of cameras that Flickr automatically recognises. At the moment it's ranked 94th of 130 Canon cameras but I can imagine this will increase as more people get out and about with the TX1
  • A new photo pool has been started by Flickr member dcJohn for photos taken with the TX1. Check it out and start adding your TX1 pictures
  • Another in-depth review of the TX1 has been put up online, this time by Flickr contributor Oscar Colorado

Hey, thanks for mentioning the TX1 group on Flickr. As it happens, I've been a follower of your terrific blog since I purchased the camera :-)

TWO CAUTIONARY NOTES:

While using the TX1 for five days straight, while generally pleased with the results, two problems did come up that are worth noting:
Shooting in the early evening outdoors, I chose ISO "HI" to allow the camera to increase the setting as necessary. The camera then made some stupid decisions, shooting at ISO 1600 and 800 when 200 or 400 would have been fine -- better to make your own decisions.
I normally shoot stills at 16:9; when I changed to 4:3, the camera automatically set the resolution at 640x480. If you want high resolution, you have to set it back to "L" after changing the aspect ratio. Live and learn!

That's weird, I don't have that at all! I can set the resolution of the two modes independently.
