Gizmodo tests fast SDHC cards
Gizmodo has put a bunch of SDHC cards through their paces to find out the king of SDHC speed. The clear winner was the Lexar 4GB Class 6, which surprisingly has not made it onto the TX1 compatible flash card list. If anyone has one of these in the TX1, please let us know how it performs.

I have the Lexar 4GB... Got it with a $30.00 Lexar Rebate... It is perfect and flawless... Get one.
Hi Donald, was this SDHC and what class? Matt
Check out this video blog that uses a Canon TX1 to produce its videos.

It was SDHC.. Class 6
After producing hundreds of awful pictures (mainly due to a faulty auto-focus circuit) I've sent my TX1 back. Unfortunately Camerabox have refused to replace it and only offered a repair. Fingers crossed it works properly when I eventually see it again!
How is everyone else getting on with their TX1's? It all seems a bit quiet on here...
I'm doing very well with my TX1 actually, finding it very enjoyable. When I'm filming the focus sometimes goes all over the place, but on the whole it's excellent.
I love the video.... BUT the stills seem a bit soft to me... NOT a Good Still Camera....
I bought my tx1 last week after spending a lot of time on this blog. I'm very impressed with the quality of this device- love the size and the ability to shoot great pics and super high quality video wherever I might be. I give this a 8 out of 10! Thanks for the great blog btw!
hello,
i'm new to the digital camera world actually, so funny enough the tx-1 is my first camera that i've bought in a long while, and i bought it mainly because i wanted to use the video function, and have had decent point-and-shoot experiences with the various IXY/IXUS models.
as i'm still the newbie really, i can get decent photos and videos with my TX1 in daylight 'auto' settings, but its a totally different beast at night, with an annoying amount of 'noise', making my pics look grainy. the only way i can seem to reduce it is to shoot it with manual, low ISO and without flash, but i feel that the setting is still not 'right'.
was just wondering if anyone could share their 'indoor' settings with me, as i'm not sure if i have a faulty camera or not.
thanks heaps in advance
>i'm not sure if i have a faulty camera or not
I found with my TX1 that if i took a photo of somebody indoors, with a tripod, on timer and an optional external flash then whatever settings I used the picture was out of focus and often with bad redeye so I sent the camera back to Camerabox. Video was working fine though (outdoors) but very grainy indoors. I'm sure the redeye and autofocus circuits just weren't functioning correctly.
You need to figure out whether it is faulty within 28 days or you will probably only be offered a repair rather than a refund or replacement.
Focus is sometimes dreadful for no particular reason, I filmed my kids for ages this afternoon, but when I tried to d/l them to my PC only 3 thumbnails arrived - this is not good. I'm mostly thrilled with the TX1 but if this happens again I've made a big mistake.
Has this blog gone belly up? Nothing posted since Summer 07? What are some other more active TX1 links? Maybe a dedicated TX1 message board? Are there enough users to have such? Thanks to all--
a-data 16gb class6 works fine ,full hd+zooming
I use a class 6 Sandisk Extreme III card and it works absolutely fine.
